"It was Jesus who
gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be
evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to
prepare God's people for works of service, so that the
body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity
in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and
become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the
fullness of Christ."
Ephesians 4:11-13, NIV
The congregation of Grace Church is a Christian Community
which is part of the Episcopal Church in America.
Christians have been worshipping in our building since
1950. The church is built in modified Mexican colonial
style and the heavy oaken doors are framed by two stately
Washingtonian palms.
We are located in
Weslaco, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley within 10 miles
of the Mexico-U.S. border. The area is primarily
agricultural with citrus, sugar cane, cotton and many
vegetables being produced, with some farmers producing
two crops (or more) per year. The weather is hot in the
summer and cool in the winter, making us a major
destination for our beloved "Winter Texans", as we call
the 100,000+ retirees who make the Valley their winter
home.

Today, Grace is the
spiritual home of 160 families units... many of whom come
from Mexican and Mexican-American backgrounds. We take
seriously our calling in the Great Commission
Mt
28:18-20 and
strive, in all things, to glorify the name of our Lord,
Jesus Christ. This is summed up in our Mission
Statement:
